Description

The Content Developer 2 is responsible for learning management system (Docebo) administration and technical eLearning design and development, often working independently or as a team member. As a primary architect of training materials and LMS solutions, this team member will plan, create, and develop various learning and infrastructure solutions. Additional modalities of training design and development will include instructor-led, blended, and microLearning for Rubrik University's core customers (end users, Rubrik Support employees, the Rubrik Security Cloud Help Center, and Rubrik partners). The candidate will produce eLearning, presentations, learner guides, hands-on- lab guides, and certification exams, alone or as part of a team. They will demonstrate great responsibility for their work, begin to display greater mastery with all core aspects of the role, demonstrate quality at speed (sense of urgency), and constantly drive for quality in all aspects.

Team members in this role will often design and develop multiple learning opportunities and LMS operations simultaneously, sometimes under the tutelage of their manager, eLearning Content Developers 3, and with Rubrik University Global Technical Instructors and other subject matter experts (SME).

Successful candidates will:

  • Have a passion for technology, have “managed / administered” an LMS, created technical eLearning and ILT / vILT courses in busy, perhaps even startup environments, and will strive whilst in this role to advance their Rubrik technologies expertise.
  • Be able to share, demonstrate, and explain samples of their eLearning or other learning opportunity creations.

 

The What

Generally, this Content Developer will: 

  • Demonstrate LMS administration leadership and responsibility for all aspects of LMS operations, including possible transition to a new LMS if required.
  • At this level, the content developer displays ownership of training content development projects, and begins to make helpful Rubrik U and content dev continuous improvement suggestions, and has or will (if appropriate) acquire the knowledge of hands-on lab systems and is able to write instructions for performing labs.
  • Seek and develop enhanced knowledge of Rubrik technologies / product intermediate-toward-expert level (corresponding to content development requirements).
  • Create "synchronous" (simultaneous student and teacher) and "asynchronous" course materials in various modalities, including but not limited to eLearning, instructor-led, virtual instructor-led and blended, and live, in classroom  learning
  • Manage, often with guidance and sometimes without, the development of instructional materials (eLearning, course contents / PPTs, job aids, tutorials, digital interactives, user guides, audio and video materials, storyboards, knowledge checks, et.) that transform information into engaging instructional materials and learning experiences.

 

Also, they will:

  • Understand and effectively participate in the core processes of the team (planning, building, delivering, coordination, customer support, continuous improvement, etc.)
  • Learn and fulfill LMS administrative duties with respect to publishing and maintaining courses, upkeep and evolution of the LMS platform.

The How

The successful candidate will possess a mix of competencies.

  • Displays a sense of ownership / responsibility with more advanced knowledge and effective use of LMS, tools, processes, standards in use within Rubrik University, and content development approach.
  • Displays strong gains in ability to more independently execute training content development projects.
  • Over time when hired from outside Rubrik, shall, within projects, demonstrate strong Rubrik product and technology familiarity gains, able to transfer these gains into higher quality training content.
  • With gains in role-based expertise, creates high-quality content / learning experiences for the benefit of others, up to and sometimes exceeding the intermediate level (PPTs, eLearning, vILT/ILT deliveries, in the form of Confluence Wikis, etc.).

Tools

  • Advanced knowledge, skills, and experience with LMS leadership and administration (Docebo LMS particularly)
  • Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace
  • Working experience of productivity tools (Jira, Github, Confluence, Zoom, Webex)
  • Strong hands-on experience in eLearning development software (such as Camtasia, iSpring, Articulate, Adobe Captivate, or other)
  • Familiarity of any graphic design software 
  • Knowledge of publishing courses using any Learning Management System (LMS)
